Book Review: The Other Woman by Sadie Jones

Emily adores the new man in her life, Adam. Their courtship is fast and everything seems too good to be true. Until Emily meets another woman in Adam’s life who makes it clear that Emily has no welcome place in the family. As Emily plans a wedding, buys a home with her fiancé and tries her hardest to push the doubts away, her suspicions grow and soon she’s faced with devastating truths as nothing she has worked for is turning out as she hoped. As she puts more and more trust into Adam, little does she know, the closer to danger she gets.

I listened to most of this book on Audible, which was great because it’s very fast-paced. It was quick-witted and intriguing; not too “over the top” as far as violent thrillers go. I liked it because it was a good mix of a mystery/suspense with some romance mixed in. Not scary but lots of “what the hell?” moment that kept me guessing!

Ruth Ware always delivers when it comes to interesting and layered characters. The Turn of the Key is a thrilling account of Rowan Caine's experience as a live-in nanny in a luxurious smart home unlike anything she has ever seen. Book Review: The Girl On The Train

If you follow top book lists, you've more than likely heard of The Girl On the Train by Paula Hawkins If you still have a book hangover from Gone Girl like I do, you'll be happy about this twisted story. It's gritty, mean, obsessive and dark, just like Amy Dunn. Although it didn't get my heart racing, (a little too vague at some points) it did have twists that left me stunned. Rachel is an alcoholic. A sad, lonely woman who tortures herself by riding a train everyday and looking out the window at her ex-husband's house.
