This year, I have really committed myself to putting time aside for reading. Not only for me, but for our family. Reading is a huge part of our lives and we love sitting together and reading before bed time and talking about all the stories we are discovering.
Making sure I put aside time for my hobby not only gives me something to look forward to at the end of a long day, but it's something our family can bond over. That extra time I've devoted to reading time has given me the opportunity to read over 20 books so far this year and I know there are even more amazing stories in my future.

Here's a round up of the best books I've read so far this year, in no particular order.
Read if you loved The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
Read if you love any of her other best sellers, like Firefly Lane or The Nightengale
Read if you loved Modern Lovers by Emma Straub
This reminded me of many of the podcasts like Serial that I listen to about people accused of crimes they say they did not commit. It also reminded me of The Mothers.
Read if you liked Room by Emma Donoghue
I can't think of a book to compare this too but it's got a touch of magic and will give you a ton of "what if" questions to ask yourself. If you have a book club, this book is guaranteed to start a lot of great conversation.
What's the best book you've read this year?
